Black Spitz

A spitz from Denmark, known in Danish as the sort spids. Today’s breed is a reconstruction of an old Danish breed known since the Middle Ages, thought to have been the most common dog in Denmark until the 19th century; it appeared at Denmark’s first dog show in 1886. It is not recognized by the FCI, but the Danish and Finnish kennel clubs accept it. Males stand 45–51 cm and females 42–48 cm, weighing 16–22 kg.
