Dumfriesshire Hound
An extinct pack of black and tan foxhounds from Scotland, kept at Glenholm Kennels near Lockerbie until it was disbanded in 2001. Sir John Buchanan Jardine founded it after the First World War, reportedly from Bloodhound, Grand Bleu de Gascogne, and English Foxhound crosses. The hounds were larger than standard foxhounds and were used in breeding the Otterhound until otter hunting was banned in 1978.
